Asiafest 2013

Asiafest 2013 was successfully held last June 5 and 6, 2013.

The first day began with registration of the delegates from the five regions of COG Philippines. They had life-changing activities and fellowships wherein they grouped themselves according to ministry/activity and shared stories and encouragements with each other.

That night, Rendezvous was held. It is a worship service that has the theme, “Parents and Youth Meet”. It kicked-off with a theatrical play, followed by praise and worship with Christian artist Ricardo Sanchez, then closed by a preaching from Ptr. Tony Stewart. It was indeed a night where the gap between parents and youth was lessened. The delegates were then lodged at their designated housing.

The following day was the Asiafest proper. It was divided into three major segments: Empowered to Stand, Engaged in Worship, and Experience the King of Glory.

The first segment “Empowered to Stand”, began at 9am, was kicked-off by an extravagant praise and worship lead by the youth. It was then followed by a preaching from Ptr. Anthony Velasco. In order to be empowered, one of the things that the youth needs is to honor their parents. It was indeed a time where the youth made an intentional move to reconcile with their parents and give them due honor and respect.

Then at 2pm, the “Engaged in Worship” part began with a big praise and worship celebration again. The worship part was concluded by the “dance without music”. From there, AJ, Denise, and Abbey (the three children of Ptr. Anthony and Sis. Gigi) exhorted and called out to the youth, that it is all about full obedience to God. Then, Ptr. Craig Mosgrove preached and taught, “the real issues in life can only be remedied by the presence of God”. This part of Asiafest was concluded by a powerful altar call and worship to the Lord. Indeed, the Lord visited the place that time.

At 7pm, the last segment “Experience the King of Glory” started with Ricardo Sanchez leading a grand praise and worship. It was then followed by a powerful message from Ptr. Tony Stewart. Then, Ptr. Anthony and all the pastors and leaders prayed for the youth. It was a time of healing and empowerment for the delegates.
